According to a business express of Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company (DFCV), the company sold nearly 30,000 units in September and nearly 270,000 units in the first three quarters, registering a respective year-on-year increase of 15%, fulfilling 90% of the annual target and maintaining steady operation. The company sold nearly 20,000 medium and heavy-duty trucks in September and nearly 190,000 units in the first three quarters, registering a link relative ratio of 14%, showing its upward market performance amid the sluggish industrial environment, enjoying a sustained lead in medium and heavy-duty truck industry, and further boosting its industry advantage.
As DFCV’s key products, Dongfeng Kinland heavy-duty truck series and Kingrun medium-duty truck series have become top priorities of customers due to their outstanding quality. In the heavy-duty truck market, DFCV sold 14,000 units in September and 140,000 units in the first three quarters, fulfilling 74% of the annual target, including nearly 80,000 units of Kinland, registering an increase of 6%. The first phase of DFCV’s new heavy-duty truck plant has finished construction and put into production, which undertkes production of Kinland and new models of heavy-duty truck in the future, further boosts Kinland’s technology and quality, and consolidates Kinland’s superiority in the heavy-duty truck industry. As far as medium-duty trucks is concerned , DFCV sold nearly 50,000 units in the first three quarters, overfulfilling the annual sales target, among which nearly 40,000 uints are of Kingrun series, registering an increase of 56% and showing its role of value benchmark in the medium-duty truck industry.
DFCV has actively implemented its overseas strategy and stepped up efforts to accomplish strategic transformation of overseas operations in recent years, gained a steady overseas business performance growth in 2011 with a year-on-year sales growth of 16% in the first three quarters, and the fulfiliment of the annual targe is expected. In September, DFCV made a brilliant appearance at ComTrans’11 with a strong lineup. Through readily marketable products and fit marketing modes, DFCV has made great strides in Russia.
Thanks to the optimization of the whole value chain synergy and its application by the subsidiaries, it is obvious that DFCV has obtained a comprehensive strength indicated by its upward business performance amid the market downturn this year. The headquarter of DFCV sold more than 130,000 units in the first three quarters, fulfilling nearly 89% of the annual target. DFLZM maintained a fast year-on-year growth of 50%, and its MPV models contributed 70,000 units in the first three quarters, overfulfilling the annual target.
Recently, DFCV has held the launch ceremony of the new heavy-duty truck plant and the cornerstone laying ceremony of the new powertrain plant in Shiyan, which will further shore up the lead of Dongfeng medium and heavy-duty trucks in the industry. Huang Gang, general manager of DFCV, said, “The construction of the new heavy-duty truck plant and the powertrain plant is based on the company’s judgment of steady market growth in the medium and long terms and consideration of overseas development, constituting a major step in the company’s medium and long-term development strategy, and will offer sufficient support for DFCV’s industry lead and DFMC’s strategy of “grand commercial vehicles”.
